How do I get a security number for HSBC online banking?
Posted on April 7th, 2010 in Security | 3 Comments »
I tried to register for HSBC online banking, but I got to the 3rd step, where it asks for your security number and got stuck. I wasn’t sure if I had one or not, so I called the helpline, and it said that I didn’t, but It didn’t tell me how to get one. It said it would be a 6 – 10 digit number ( or was it 6 – 8?) that I would choose myself.
Can anyone tell me how to get one?

go to bank and get it set up, cause it seems you’re doing something wrong with the online registration.
If you are doing online banking, most banks need to set you up at a facility for security purposes.
You need to register for online banking to any bank.
Requirement is a login ID & a password.
Normally your customer with the bank is your login ID & the bank send the password in a sealed password mailer.
Thereafter, you can change the password.
In event of password error, there are provision for online password generation.
First, password will come to you only in sealed password mailer.
